Drink: Hot Chocolate
I was blinded by the flashing lights, waiting for the paparazzi to get off on me, to kill the needs…I’ll make the headlines, telling the right lies, this little light of mine I’m gonna let it shine…
Hello blog readers! Happy Halloween!
Yes, that was yours truly this weekend, and what a weekend it was! After leaving work on Friday I immediately went home and got my costume, and packed up my favorite Louis Vuitton bag because I knew upon leaving the house Friday night my weekend would probably be so crazy that I probably wouldn’t be home till Sunday (and I was right!). The first stop was over to Jeremy’s to pick him up, then it was off to the Phil and Laura’s ‘C’ Party! Each year, they choose a letter from a hat, and everyone must come dressed as something that starts with that chosen letter. So, this year the letter was C, and as you can see, I was Cupid. It was my most favorite costume I have ever worn!
Apparently everyone was eagerly awaiting to see what I was going to come as. I guess it was due to my costume for last year’s party, when the letter was F…but thats another story 😉 Here a few pics from Phil and Laura’s –
The next day, on Saturday, was Todd’s graduation from nursing school downtown. After graduation, we went to one of my favorite restaurants in town – Hue. We sat on the patio, had celebratory cocktails, and just soaked up each other’s awesomeness.
After Hue, cocktails continued…we stopped at Lake Eola Wine and sat outside and enjoyed the cool breeze. I found a new wine I like! Chateau Saint-Didier, a malbec from the Cahors region of France. YUM! It was such a relaxing afternoon, just chit chatting and enjoying friends while sitting downtown 🙂
After that, it was a quick stop with my fellow Gators to watch the Florida/Georgia football game. BUT enough about that (since we lost 😦 ). Then it was onward to the second Halloween party of the weekend, at Jenny and Chris’s! They had QUITE the spread of food, complete with dragon cupcakes, a jello mold that looked like brains, epic mac and cheese, and enough liquor to keep the navy stocked for months! We did shots like we were college students again, and just laughed and enjoyed good friends. I just love that crew! It was truly a blast, but it always is with them! I always feel so lucky I met them (thank you Sarah! haha)
On Sunday, I was supposed to go to a bowling fundraiser event, but I was SO exhausted that I just slept and relaxed, which if you know me is SUPER rare that I do that on a Sunday! Sunday night, two of Jeremy’s friends invited me and him to a little dinner party, and it was quite the dinner party! We started with a truly beautiful blue cheese salad that had walnuts, apples, dried cranberries, and more in it, it was epic. Then the main course was a bread bowl filled with an amazing stew. We drank champagne, then red wine, then prosecco, then prosecco, then more prosecco…. Dessert was a French apple pie 🙂
So that was the weekend. It was CRAZY FUN! Glad I got to see so many of my friends that I don’t get to see very much 🙂 Yesterday I came home after work and just did laundry, same tonight too. But I got two invites to weddings today! woohooo! I love weddings!
My social calendar has been so intense this year, its been so hard to keep a clean house and do all the things I want to do! This weekend Sarah is in town from KY, then the following weekend I will be in Nashville. Always something fun to do though!
Tonight I have been trying to catch up on housework, and now am watching Family Guy while sitting by the fire. Lets see, is anything else going on…hmm. Really into scarves lately, been buying a ton of them. While in Lexington, Sarah and I found this YouTube video – 25 ways to tie a scarf in 4.5 minutes. It changed my life! I want scarves scarves and more scarves! There is a Gucci one I really want BADLY. Maybe I will go visit it at the mall this weekend 😉
