Sorry it has been a while since my last post, been busy busy this weekend!

Thanksgiving is upon us again! I have successfully gone this far without hearing that AWFUL Thanksgiving “Turkey Song” by Adam Sandler. I hate that song, and him, SO MUCH, that I almost don’t even want to mention it. But this is the first year (so far) I have not had to listen to that dreading crooning. Its SO stupid. There, I said it. Wanna fight about it?

Everyone has been posting on Facebook what they are thankful for. Of course I am thankful for my wonderful and loving family and friends, my home and job, this and that, and all the wonderful blessings in my life. But aside from those wonderful and precious things, at the top of my list are:

1. The TV show DALLAS
2. Mint chocolate chip ANYTHING
3. Cookies
4. Red wine
5. Messenger bags, skinny ties, and vests
6. Paris
7. Convertibles
8. Disco music
9. Retro furniture
10. Did I mention red wine?

My mom is cooking this year, I can’t wait for the STUFFING. She hasn’t cooked for Thanksgiving in a while actually. Last year we ate out, the year before that I was in the hospital for 3 or 4 days due to a panic attack (got ALL worked up about spending Thanksgiving with an ex (and their family) that I wanted to get back with), and the year before that we ate out. So this will be a treat 🙂

Saturday morning I woke up EARLY to go sign up to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity (is it court ordered community service, or is Brandon just a super good guy? You decide: hardened criminal, or most amazing nicest person ever?). So after signing up, I went home and worked around the house a bit and geared up for that evening…

Ready for the Monte Carlo Casino Party!

I went to the most epic 30th birthday party this past Saturday night. Laura, whom I have known since college, had a Monte Carlo Casino party for her 30th. Everyone got all dressed up, and they had a roulette wheel, blackjack table, casino dealers, bartender, drink menus, the works. Every party of theirs has been amazing, so I expected a blast, and had one indeed!

Oh, ha ha ha! Oh, darling, aren’t we just so naturally fabulous??

I lost all my casino chips early, so went outside with the guys and smoked the most amazing Cuban cigar, and reminisced with my fraternity brothers and made some new friends as well.

Yummy Cuban!

I couldn’t even tell you what we talked about, it’s all kind of a blur. Later on, a dance party broke out inside, so of course I started dancing like crazy and by this time I was trashed from numerous cocktails and beer and the Cuban was making the room spin, and then the next thing I know the cops show up! Successful party, check! When I woke up there the next morning, I was like “Laura WTF HAPPENED?” and she said “When everyone was leaving, you just laid down on the couch and I was like ‘Hey Brandon, you’re spending the night right?’ and you just said ‘Clearly.’” Laura and Phil are such good people, I love them dearly!

Dance party!

Driving home the next morning, not so fun.

SO early.

Sunday it was nice and cool out, so I put the top down on The Countess and drove to Renniger’s Antique & Flea Market for their Fall Extravaganza.

The Countess got washed on Saturday

Chris texted me about it while I was at the party the night before, and I replied with “OMG YES I WANT TO GO!”. Dealers from all over the country drive in and it’s a HUGE antique yard sale. I met Chris and Todd there in my hungover state, and we walked around for a while shopping for things for our houses. I hadn’t seen Chris and Todd in WEEKS, so I was glad I got to spend time with them and catch up. I found the most AMAZING thing…

Retro! Just my style!

HOW EPIC IS THAT DINING SET AND HUTCH?! I wanted it so bad, but had no where to put it. I could have put it in my Florida room, but then would have to get rid of the table and chairs I already have. But I found some other good finds for my house. I found the most AMAZING 60s coffee table, but it was SO expensive 😦

I have always wanted one like this!

I drove home with the top down, sun shining down and my music blasting. Took a nap and then made a fire, ordered some pizza, and watched like ten Family Guy episodes.

Last night I went over to Jeremy’s and we watched the horror flick Chernobyl Diaries. I was kinda disappointed 😦 I LOVE horror and scary movies, and this one just kind of ended without explaining anything. Can anyone suggest another good one for me? We pigged out to the most amazing sushi spread ever while we watched.

If you have been reading my blog, you know I am going through a scarf phase. I found this Gucci one I REALLY want…

…but its like, I freaking live in FL. I can wear scarves for like maybe two months of the year, tops. So, I can’t really justify plopping down a chunk of change on an expensive scarf. But I REALLY want it. Tell me what to do people!

Sunday my mom and I are going to see Handel’s Messiah! We are really excited, we have never seen it before. After, I am going to come home and start painting the walls of my spare bedroom and finally redo the furniture in there. Has anyone out there ever painted furniture before? I am painting the headboards, nightstand, and chest of drawers in that room. Never painted furniture before, but it can’t be that hard, right? I am painting the furniture an off-white, and I think I am going to do the hardware in silver; the walls will be pale gray. I got the coolest bedding for in there. Gotta get it ready in time for my annual Christmas Wine & Cheese party! Are YOU coming? 😉

Bedding for the spare room!

Does anyone know anything about surround sound? I need some help 😦 Also, any music or any other suggestions for my party coming up would be nice!

Omg, speaking of music, have you all heard the new Kelly Clarkson song “Catch My Breath”?! I LOVE IT. It speaks to me so much, and if you know all the ups and downs I went through this year with a certain someone, you know exactly why 😉 But listen to the first 12 seconds…sound familiar? I think it sounds almost JUST like the intro to INOJ – Love You Down. Very similar 😉

That’s about all that’s goin on with me. Anyone have any book recommendations for my upcoming KY trip?

Well, thats it for me for now. Goodnight disco stars, wishing you champagne wishes and caviar dreams.
